The emergency services brought two small wildfire outbreaks in Tenerife under control this afternoon, Sunday, one in Tacoronte and the other in La Orotava, after rapid activation of fire-fighting resources from across the island.
According to Cabildo president, Rosa Dávila, the first incident was reported at around 3:30pm in the El Paso area of La Orotava, triggering an immediate response from firefighters, Local Police, Civil Protection teams, and Brifor forest brigades.
Authorities urged the public to avoid the area to ensure that the extinction work could proceed without disruption.
A second small fire in Tacoronte affected an agricultural storage hut. Firefighters and Local Police were deployed, and the blaze was confirmed to be under control with no injuries reported.
Both incidents were stabilised swiftly thanks to coordinated action, and no further risks have been reported. Investigations are underway to confirm how they started, but current dry humid weather conditions are perfect for fires with sufficient winds to help spread them.
