Emergencies on two flights landing at Tenerife South Airport

Two flights arriving at Tenerife South-Reina Sofía Airport yesterday, Saturday 1st February, declared emergencies almost consecutively prompting immediate response from air traffic controllers and the emergency services based at the airport

According to reports from Air Traffic Controllers, the first alert came from EasyJet flight EJU97QN, which had departed from Paris and shortly afterwards, the crew of Norwegian flight NSZ4269, arriving from Stockholm, raised a similar concern.

Both incidents were triggered by passengers experiencing medical issues while on board. In response, air traffic controllers cleared the approach for both aircraft to minimise delays and coordinated with airport staff to ensure medical assistance was available upon landing.

Authorities have not released further details about the passengers' conditions but confirmed that necessary medical support was provided on arrival.
