A 70-year-old holidaymaker was injured yesterday, Saturday, after suffering a fall while hiking in Montaña Amarilla, located in the municipality of San Miguel de Abona, in the south of Tenerife.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) reported that the incident happened at approximately 2:30pm, which is when the emergency call centre received an alert stating that a German man required medical assistance after falling and being unable to continue their route.
In response, CECOES immediately activated the necessary emergency resources to assist at the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters successfully carried out the rescue and carried the injured man on a stretcher to medical personnel for assessment.
Paramedics treated the hiker, who had sustained a moderate lower limb injury. After receiving initial treatment, was transported by ambulance to Hospiten Sur for further medical care.
Following the rescue, the Guardia Civil took charge of the necessary formalities related to the incident.
