The Adeje Council have announced the reopening of El Puertito beach for swimming, following confirmation that the water quality now meets safety standards after carrying out new tests.
The beach, located in the south of Tenerife, was temporarily closed after routine tests revealed elevated levels of faecal bacteria in the sea.
In response, the local council activated its protocol for public notification, environmental monitoring, and closure of the affected area, while informing the relevant regional authorities.
New test results received today have confirmed that the water is safe again for bathing, allowing restrictions to be lifted and the beach to reopen to the public.
The Adeje Council has reiterated its commitment to ongoing water quality monitoring to ensure public health and environmental safety.
