The emergency services were called to tackle a fire that broke out during the early hours of this morning, Friday, in a residential building in Guaza, within the municipality of Arona, in the south of Tenerife.
According to information released by Bomberos de Tenerife, firefighters from the San Miguel de Abona station were dispatched at around 2:55am after the emergency alert was received through the 112 coordination centre (CECOES).
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire was affecting a building containing six residential properties, although the flames were mainly concentrated on the stairwell landing inside the building.
Crews worked to extinguish the fire before carrying out a full inspection of all six apartments to ensure no residents had been affected by smoke or flames.
As a precaution, Local Police officers and SUC medical personnel also deployed to the scene. No injuries were reported, and emergency teams confirmed that the situation was brought under control after the blaze was extinguished.
