The Tenerife Fire Coordination Centre has reported an incident that happened on Sunday afternoon at the Valle San Lorenzo Sports Pavilion in the south of Tenerife when a driver lost control of his car, went over the edge of a small cliff and was left balancing vertically in the retaining wall of the car park below.
The coordination centre dispatched the San Miguel fire brigade to the sports centre on Calle José García Allo, after receiving an alert from the public, who secured the vehicle so that it was safe to recover from its precarious position.
Fortunately, nobody was trapped inside the vehicle or hurt in the incident, but it does look like a lucky escape taking into account the extra drop without that wall there.
