A 64-year-old man has died in a fatal road crash this morning (Thursday) in the south of Tenerife. The accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. on the TF-82, the mountain road that links Icod de los Vinos with Adeje, near kilometre marker 47.

According to emergency services, the man’s vehicle left the carriageway and plunged down an embankment. Emergency units rushed to the roadside, with firefighters pulling the victim from the wreckage and beginning resuscitation efforts, later continued by paramedics and doctors.

Despite their desperate attempts to revive him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation to determine how and why the crash occurred.

This latest tragedy adds to a growing list of deadly accidents across Tenerife and the Canary Islands in recent months. In July, a car and motorbike collided on the TF-42 in the north of Tenerife, killing one person and seriously injuring another.

In August, two people were hit and killed when a vehicle veered off the road in La Gomera. Most recently, a national road safety study highlighted a stretch of the TF-1 near San Isidro as one of the most dangerous in Spain for pedestrian fatalities.
