Doctor arrested for allegedly sexually abusing patients in Gran Canaria
A doctor working at a private medical centre in Telde, Gran Canaria, has been arrested by the National Police for allegedly sexually abusing at least two young women who visited his clinic as patients. The investigation was launched after one of the women decided to file a formal complaint.
She had been referred to the doctor by her massage therapist, who recommended him as a nutrition specialist to help her lose weight. During the first few consultations, the doctor reportedly began to flirt with the young woman and asked her to strip down to her underwear so that he could weigh her.
He then told her she was “retaining fluids” and offered to give her a lymphatic massage. Under this pretext, he allegedly spread cream over her body and proceeded to massage her while she lay face down on a treatment bed.
Although the patient felt uncomfortable, she assumed the procedure was legitimate since he was a qualified doctor. However, during a later appointment, the same thing happened again, but his behaviour became even more inappropriate, even going so far as to place her toes in his mouth.
The woman later confided in her massage therapist, who revealed that another client had reported an identical experience with the same doctor. This led to the second woman filing her own complaint, confirming a similar pattern of behaviour. In her case, she reportedly fled the consultation room when the doctor left briefly to go to the bathroom.
The National Police have confirmed that the arrest took place today, (Thursday), and that the case remains under investigation. The accused doctor faces charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of patients under the guise of medical treatment.
Authorities have not released the doctor’s identity while the investigation continues.
