The body of a man was discovered this morning (Tuesday) at the packaging treatment plant in the Ecoparque Norte, Salto del Negro, in Gran Canaria. The discovery was made shortly after 8:00am by a worker in the truck unloading area, where waste from yellow containers across all municipalities of Gran Canaria is deposited.
The National Police have reported that the body is in a severely decomposed state and remains unidentified. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to gather more information.
An investigation is underway to determine the identity of the deceased, the cause of death, and how the body ended up in the landfill. The remains are set to be transported for analysis later today.
This case adds to the list of ongoing investigations and highlights the challenges faced in identifying and understanding the circumstances behind such discoveries.
