A Maritime Rescue helicopter retrieved the dead body of a man that was spotted floating in the sea by Arico off the east coast of Tenerife yesterday (Friday), which is thought to be that of a spear fisherman reported missing the day before, according to CECOES.
The Emergency Services have reported that they received an alert for help at 1:45pm yesterday to help locate this man, whose whereabouts were unknown, and activated search and rescue teams.
Not long afterward, the Helimer Maritime Rescue helicopter spotted the body in the water and airlifted it to land where it was made available to the judicial authority for identification and to order an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
