Cyclist killed in collision on TF-652 in the south of Tenerife
A cyclist has died after being struck by a vehicle on Monday evening on the TF-652 road near Las Galletas in the municipality of Arona in the south of Tenerife.
According to the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) the incident occurred at around 8:00pm, which is when emergency resources were dispatched to the location given to aid the cyclist.
Two ambulances from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched to the scene, but despite their efforts, paramedics could only confirm the victim’s death due to the severity of his injuries.
The Guardia Civil have taken charge of the investigation into the cause of the accident, while the Local Police assisted with traffic control and securing the area. Road maintenance teams were also deployed to clear and signpost the affected stretch.
No further details about the circumstances of the collision have yet been released.
