Closure of two TF-1 lanes in Las Chafiras confirmed for three nights

The Canary Islands Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility has announced the temporary night-time closure of two lanes on the TF-1 motorway in both directions.

The closure, which began at 8:00pm last night (9th April), will remain in place until 6:00am tomorrow, Friday 11th April, and affects the stretch of the motorway between kilometre 60 and 64.

This measure is part of the ongoing works to install prefabricated beams for the bridge ate the Chafiras junction, a key element in the construction of the TF-1’s third lane between San Isidro and Las Americas, specifically between the Oroteanda and Las Chafiras junctions.

To minimise disruption and maintain traffic flow, vehicles will be diverted through the Chafiras industrial area (both upper and lower sections) between junctions 62 and 64 during the closure period.

The Directorate-General for Road Infrastructure is urging drivers to exercise caution, follow posted signage, and adhere to the instructions of on-site workers to ensure safety throughout the construction zone.

These works form part of a broader infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving traffic capacity and safety along one of Tenerife’s busiest motorway sections.
