Car on fire in the middle of the TF-1 motorway in the south

A vehicle has caught fire on the southbound carriageway of the TF-1 motorway, as it passes through the municipality of Arico towards the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

Emergency resources have already been dispatched to scene of the incident, and at the moment, it is unknown if there have been any injuries to the driver or if there were any passengers in the vehicle which is facing the wrong way on the outside lane, or how the fire started.

The fire has caused large traffic jams in the area and drivers are asked to take extreme precautions as the police are starting to cordon off the outside lane and the fire brigade are extinguishing the blaze.
