The Canarian General Police Force, through its Operational Response Group, has arrested two men aged 21 and 52 years old in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in possession of 40 grams of heroin and €2,910 in cash, split into various denominations.
The two men, who were the driver and front passenger of a vehicle carrying four people, are being investigated for drug-related offences and road safety violations, as the driver doesn’t have a valid driving licence.
The arrests occurred during a routine vehicle checkpoint on Calle Agustina de Aragón in Las Palmas. After stopping the car, police identified the passengers and inspected the vehicle, where they discovered drugs and a substantial amount of cash.
The two men have been taken into custody and charged, and are currently waiting to face the judicial authorities to be sentenced.
