The body of a woman reported missing has been recovered from the waters off the southern coast of Tenerife. The discovery was made yesterday (Tuesday) near the coastal areas of Guía de Isora and Santiago del Teide.
The Maritime Rescue vessel Salvamar Alpheratz responded to the alert and transported the body to the port of Los Cristianos.
According to initial reports, the woman had been missing since Monday night. Her body was found floating in the sea by the rescue crew, who immediately carried out recovery procedures and returned to base.
The Guardia Civil’s Judicial Police Unit and the Territorial Judicial Police Team from southern Tenerife have taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s disappearance and death.
The body has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where an autopsy will be conducted to establish the cause of death.
Authorities noted that the body did not show signs of advanced decomposition, suggesting the death occurred only hours before the discovery.
At present, no further details regarding the woman's identity or the nature of the incident have been released. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to clarify the events leading to this tragic outcome.
