Search and rescue teams have reported this morning (Friday), that they have found a corpse floating in the sea, approximately 100 metres from the Almáciga beach in Tenerife where he went missing on Tuesday afternoon.
The body was spotted by the Helimer helicopter who airlifted it to the shore where the police were waiting to receive it before it is taken for official identification and an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Even though his identity hasn’t been officially confirmed, reports say his characteristics match the description of the missing Italian man.
The search started on Tuesday when the man went swimming and didn’t come back. Since then, the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) helicopter, the Guardia Civil, National Police, Local Police, Anaga Emergency Assistance, and lifeguards on the beach itself, have all been involved in trying to find him.
