At around 8:00pm on Sunday (28th July), the emergency services were alerted to the discovery of a dead body with clear signs of violence in an apartment in Mareverde, a popular complex for holidaymakers and residents, in Torviscas (Costa Adeje) in the south of Tenerife.
According to reports, the deceased, a Spanish national whose identity has not been released, was found with a severe head injury and strangled with a shower hose.
The National Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident. Additionally, three other suspects are under investigation, including the victim's apartment mate, who reported the discovery of the body.
The Judicial Police have initiated proceedings and taken charge of the investigation, which is currently under a secrecy order from the Arona courts. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
