Arrested twice in 24 hours for robbing a restaurant and stealing a car

The Local Police have arrested a 50-year-old man in Tenerife, twice in 24 hours, after he was detained on Sunday morning for allegedly burgling a restaurant, and again on Monday for stealing a car, according to an official police report.

The first incident took place at a restaurant on Rambla de Los Menceyes in Candelaria, when the man climbed up a wall and broke a window to gain access to it after it had closed.

The police were alerted by an alarm at the premises and four patrols arrived just as the man was exiting carrying items he was stealing from the restaurant, caught red-handed.

The man was arrested and the stolen items were returned to the restaurant, and the Local Police handed the man over to the Güímar Court of First Instance and Investigation with their report, who released him on Sunday afternoon after he was charged waiting for a future trial date.

However, just a day later on Monday (August 22nd), the same man was arrested again, this time by the Guardia Civil after he was involved in a car accident on the TF-1 motorway driving a car, it turns out, he had stolen from a business on Avenida Marítima in Santa Cruz.

No one was injured in the incident and the man now remains in custody awaiting sentencing for both crimes.
