A 44-year-old man was seriously injured in an accident close to the Teide Observatory yesterday, and needed to be airlifted to hospital by helicopter.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) the accident happened just after midday on the TF-24, the road that links the north airport to the Teide National Park, involving two motorbikes.
The 44-year-old rider of one was rushed to hospital by medicalized helicopter to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital, where he is receiving further treatment for his injuries.
The rider of the other motorbike, a 33-year-old, suffered moderate injuries and was transferred by ambulance to the same hospital for treatment and routine observation.
