Adeje is getting ready for the Degusta.me Adeje Gastronomy Fair

Adeje is gearing up for the foodie event of the year, the Degusta.me Gastronomy Fair, this Saturday in the Calle Grande and Plaza de España from 4pm to 1am. Gastronomy, craft beers and wines from the vineyards of the region will be the stars of the afternoon and evening.

The council has organised a series of musical performances from La Chalana, Los Coquillos, Candeladixilan and the Vid Band to accompany it, and there will also be a dinosaur parade, a children's playground, bouncy castles and children's workshops.

In the evening members of the public can enjoy the food and drink products on offer by purchasing tickets and the Degusta.me glass at the point of sale. This initiative is promoted by the departments of economic activity and job creation under councillors Mercedes Vargas and Alberto Álvarez Jiménez.

Activities continue this week have already included 'The cooking of Andrea Bernardi and Fernanda Fuentes', chefs of the Michelin-starred Nub Restaurant, last night (Monday) at the CDTCA, and tonight it is the turn of the workshop 'Cooking with Adeje’s senior residents, traditional cuisine of Adeje', in cooperation with the senior’s department. Three members of the Santa Ana Association for the Elderly will prepare traditional dishes from Adeje at the CDTCA from 6pm to 8pm.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 29th, 5.30pm to 7.30pm the CDTCA will host a 'Chocolate Tasting', introducing participants to the world of cocoa, the process from harvest, post-harvest, purchase of the cocoa bean, to the transformation to different kinds of chocolates.

The food workshops will end on Thursday with a 'Christmas Menu', at the Centre for Citizen Participation and Coexistence in Las Nieves.
