Adeje Town Hall has unveiled its new mobile app, “Costa Adeje” on Google Play and “Adeje DTI” on iOS, a powerful tool designed to make life easier for both residents and visitors, and a key component of the town’s transformation into a Smart Tourism Destination.

The launch forms part of the wider “Adeje DTI” (Destino Turístico Inteligente) project, developed in partnership with Red.es, a national digital innovation agency, and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project is a flagship initiative aimed at modernising Adeje’s public services through smart technology and sustainability-focused innovation.

Smart Tourism in Your Pocket

Described by Patricia Paulsen Fölling, Councillor for Tourism, Sustainability, and Innovation, as “more than a tourist guide, it’s a control centre for the destination”, the new app brings together a wealth of real-time, location-based information in a single user-friendly platform.

“We’re using technology to improve quality of life, offering real solutions to everyday needs while enhancing the efficiency and transparency of local government,” she said during the launch.

What the App Offers

The “Costa Adeje” app leverages a network of IoT (Internet of Things) sensors and advanced digital infrastructure to deliver up-to-the-minute updates and services in several languages, including English.

Key features include:

  • Beach and car park occupancy: Real-time data on how busy key beaches and parking areas are - ideal for planning your day.
  • Free Wi-Fi hotspots: An interactive map showing all public Wi-Fi access points across the municipality.
  • Event calendar: Listings of local festivals, concerts, sports events, and cultural activities.
  • Town news: Direct access to official announcements and updates from Adeje Town Hall.
  • Public transport info: Routes, schedules, and stop details for buses and other transit services.
  • Local business directory: A searchable guide to shops, restaurants, and essential services in the area.
  • Points of interest: Interactive destination guide with geolocation, walking routes, and how-to-get-there tools for monuments, parks, and landmarks.

Designed for Tourists and Residents

The app is not just a tourism tool, it’s also part of Adeje’s broader vision to become a digitally connected, environmentally responsible, and citizen-focused municipality. By promoting informed mobility, encouraging responsible use of public spaces, and supporting local businesses, it aims to enhance both the quality of visitor experience and the day-to-day life of residents.
