Adeje Farmers Market celebrates 16 years of supporting local produce

The Agromercado Adeje (Farmers Market) celebrates its 16th anniversary this month, with celebratory events taking place this weekend, 21st and 22nd December, starting at 10am at the Farmers market premises in Las Torres.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Adeje Town Hall, has played a key role in promoting the local agricultural sector by providing fresh, high-quality products directly from farmers to consumers.

A Commitment to Local Agriculture

Over the past 16 years, the Farmers Market has established itself as a cornerstone of sustainable consumption and a platform for local producers. Highlighting its impact, Alberto Álvarez Jiménez, councillor for the Farmers Market, said:

"The market is not just a place for trade; it is a meeting point for producers and consumers, significantly driving the economy of our primary sector. Together with local farmers, we have fostered a robust agricultural sector and elevated the prominence of local ingredients in Adeje’s celebrated culinary landscape."
