A Vueling plane that took off from Tenerife South airport yesterday morning (Saturday) had to return to the island shortly after takeoff because there was a problem retracting its landing gear, as reported by air traffic controllers.
Flight VY1814, which was bound for (Denmark), had to circle for two hours to burn off enough fuel before it was able to land safely, otherwise it is too heavy to stop before the end of the runway, due to the problem.
However, after circling to the south of the island it touched down safely without any major incident, and another plane, that had started to make its way to Tenerife, was ready not long after for them to continue their journey, a few hours late, but safely.
