The fire that started on Monday morning in Icod del Alto is fully extinguished. According to the Tenerife Cabildo, the rapid action of the emergency services made it possible to stabilize the fire two hours after it started, and this morning they have confirmed that it is fully extinguished.

Three helicopters, five teams of firefighters, two fire engines, and three Environmental technicians from the Forestry Brigade (Brifor) travelled to the area, which reports say only affected two hectares of vegetation.

The Insular Operational Coordination Centre of the Tenerife Cabildo has reported this morning (Monday), that a new outbreak of forest fire in the municipality of Los Realejos, specifically on the Las Cabezadas road in the area of Icod el Alto.

The fire has started in the north of Tenerife in an area close to the forest fire which affected 2,700 hectares of forest in July.

Brifor’s air and land resources have already been dispatched to the area to control it and extinguish it as soon as possible.
