A 32-year-old man was injured in the early hours of this morning when he was attacked with a machete on Avenida Rafael Puig Lluvina, which passes by the Veronicas area of Playa Las Americas in the south of Tenerife.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) the incident took place around 4:40am this morning (Sunday) when the Local Police sent an alert requesting medical assistance for the man who had an arm injury.
SUC ambulance staff treated the open wound at the scene of the attack before transferring him to Hospiten Sur for further treatment. However, after stabilising him, it was decided that he needed to go to the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria University Hospital for treatment.
The police have opened an investigation into the incident and warn that the man with the machete has not yet been found.
