A 59-year-old man, whose identity or nationality hasn’t been released, was killed this morning (Saturday) after crashing a hire car into a wall in the rent-a-car parking area at the Tenerife North airport.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) have reported that they received an alert at 10:11am today informing them about the accident and that the man was seriously injured and not responding to anyone.
When paramedics arrived at the airport they confirmed that the man was in cardiorespiratory arrest and had chest injuries from the accident, and tried to perform basic and advanced resuscitation manoeuvres, but unfortunately to no avail and they could only confirm his death.
The man has been identified but his identity has not been made public, and his body has been taken for autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.
