A 34-year-old female paraglider was injured yesterday (Friday) after suffering a fall during a jump near Taucho, within the municipality of Adeje in the south of Tenerife, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre for the Canary Islands (CECOES).
CECOES received an alert at 3:14pm yesterday informing that she had fallen into a rough area that was difficult to access for the emergency services, so she had to be rescued by a GES helicopter.
Paramedics from the helicopter were able to treat her at the site for a fractured leg, before stabilising her and airlifting her to the helipad at the Adeje Fire Station where an ambulance transferred her to Hospiten Sur for further treatment.
CECOES have confirmed that no one else was injured in the incident.
