A female driver was seriously injured in a car accident on Monday on the TF-643 leading to Los Abrigos, in the south of Tenerife as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The accident happened at around 7:15am, which is when the 1-1-2 emergency call centre received an alert stating that two vehicles had collided on the above-mentioned road, so CECOES immediately dispatched the necessary emergency resources to the location given.
When they arrived, firemen ensured that the two vehicles were safe and then freed the injured woman who was trapped in one of them after the accident.
After being treated by SUC medical personnel, she was taken to Hospiten Sur for further treatment of a back injury. The driver of the other car was not injured in the incident.
The Local Police regulated the traffic on the road and the Guardia Civil made the corresponding report to find the cause of the accident, but according to initial information, apparently one of the vehicles was exceeding the speed limit in that area.
