The Emergency Services have reported that a dead body of a male aged around 50 years old has been found this afternoon (Saturday) near the TF-1 motorway in Los Moriscos in Tenerife, close to the junction for Avenida Maritima in Santa Cruz.
A local resident was walking his dog in the area when he spotted something and called 112 to report it, realising that it was a lifeless body of a person.
No further details have been released at this stage, except that the National Police and forensics who were dispatched to the area, guarded the body until the mandatory judicial order was issued allowing the removal of the corpse for autopsy and official identification.
Sources close to the incident have said that the body is a male of approximately 50 years old in an advanced state of decomposition meaning it could have been there for the last five or six days.
Until the results of the autopsy are revealed there won’t be any more details about the possible cause of death of this person and they cannot rule out any hypothesis at this stage, but due to the remoteness of the place, and the first visual inspection of the scene In question, the possibility that it is the result of some type of accident seems more likely than that of a violent death at the hands of another person.
