AEMET is forecasting another settled day across the Canary Islands this Saturday, with higher daytime temperatures and a slightly milder nights. Winds will be light to moderate, getting stronger later in the afternoon, especially across Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
There will be cloudy intervals across much of the archipelago, particularly in the north of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, where there is still a small chance of light showers. While not a washout, conditions may feel a bit grey at times in higher areas.
Sea conditions will be moderate, with north to north-easterly winds at force 4 to 5. Expect a choppy sea with a north-westerly swell producing waves of around one to two metres.
Island-by-island outlook for Saturday 25th April 2026:
Tenerife
A mix of light cloud and clearer spells across much of the island, though the north and north-east will likely stay cloudier for longer periods. There is a small chance of light, patchy rain, mainly in the north and at mid-level altitudes. The south and coastal resort areas will see more sunshine breaking through during the day. Winds will start off light but are expected to strengthen later, especially along the east coast and far north-west. In the central highlands, northerly winds will ease as the morning progresses.
General temperature range: Low of 18°C and high of 25°C.
Gran Canaria
Conditions will vary depending on where you are on the island. The north is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with a chance of light, scattered drizzle, particularly in the early hours and again later in the day. Central areas may also see lingering cloud cover. In contrast, the south and south-west should enjoy more sunshine and clearer skies, with lighter breezes making it feel warmer. Winds will be stronger in the south-east and north-west, so expect gusty conditions in those regions.
General temperature range: Low of 19°C and high of 23°C.
Lanzarote
Cloudy intervals are expected throughout the day, with brighter spells at times, particularly during the middle of the day. The morning may start off feeling a little overcast, especially along the coast, but sunshine should break through now and then. Temperatures will remain steady, though the night and early morning will feel slightly warmer than previous days. The trade winds will be noticeable and may become gusty in exposed areas, particularly inland and towards the south.
General temperature range: Low of 17°C and high of 24°C.
Fuerteventura
A similar pattern to Lanzarote, with a mix of cloud and sunshine. The day is likely to begin with more cloud cover, especially in the north and east, before clearing somewhat in the afternoon to reveal longer sunny spells. Temperatures will stay consistent, with a mild night ahead. Winds will be a key factor, occasionally becoming strong and making it feel cooler along wind-exposed beaches and open areas.
General temperature range: Low of 17°C and high of 24°C.
Please remember:
It’s important to be aware that the Canaries consist of micro-climates across the islands due to the mountainous areas. This means all forecasts and temperatures are general for the island, and not location specific. It will generally be cooler at altitude up mountains, and warmer in sheltered coastal areas, and can be very different just a few kilometres away.
