A 5-year-old boy has been hospitalized after being rescued from drowning in a hotel swimming pool located on Calle Meandro, in Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident happened at around 11:45am this morning (Wednesday) at the holiday complex, which is when the 1-1-2 emergency call centre received an alert informing them that the hotel lifeguards had rescued a young boy from the pool, who had suffered an “incomplete drowning” and that they were administering first aid.
According to the report, the boy wasn’t breathing when he was pulled from the pool and lifeguards managed to expel the water from his airways so that he was able to breathe again.
When they arrived at the hotel, SUC medical personnel checked over and stabilised the minor before transferring him in a medicalized ambulance to the Hospital Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria for routine observation.
