9-year-old girl on scooter hit by car in Tenerife
A nine-year-old girl has been injured after being hit by a car while riding a scooter in Tenerife. The incident happened at around 3:45pm this afternoon (Sunday) on Calle Batayola in the municipality of Candelaria.
According to a report from the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES), the collision involved a private vehicle and the young scooter rider, who required immediate medical attention.
SUC medical personnel assessed and treated the girl at the scene, who had sustained multiple injuries, mostly cuts and severe bruises. After being treated they took her to the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria by ambulance for routine observation.
The Local Police also attended the scene, managed traffic flow, and compiled the necessary accident report. Further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
