A 55-year-old man was revived from a heart attack by paramedics yesterday afternoon (Saturday), after collapsing whilst walking along the seafront promenade in Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), they received a call informing that the man, whose details haven’t been released, had collapsed and fallen unconscious, and that the duty doctor gave the caller instructions to attend to him before medical personnel arrived.
After asking questions about the man’s symptoms, the doctor instructed them how to give CPR to try and revive him, which they did until paramedics arrived shortly after, and took over managing to reverse the heart stoppage and stabilise him so that he could be taken to hospital.
CECOES have praised the caller and the doctor at the other end of the phone as the man was transferred to Candelaria in a serious but stable condition.
