The National Police has intensified its presence in the different population centres in the province of Tenerife, in order to ensure compliance with the regulations established to prevent the transmission of Covid-19, and has this week issued 479 sanctions for various breaches of the regulations.
In comparison with the rest of the fines issued, the failure to comply with the curfew times stands out, accounting for 236 sanction proposals of the total of those carried out. Similarly, 188 fines were issued for either not wearing a mask or not wearing it properly. (Both of these carry a starting fine amount of 100 euros, so are they worth not respecting?)
By municipalities, the most fines were issued in the south of the island, in fact 50% of all fines (239) were in the municipalities of Adeje and Arona, 104 sanctions in the capital of Tenerife, 82 in La Laguna, 29 between the towns of Puerto de la Cruz and Los Realejos, and 25 in the town of Santa Cruz de la Palma.
The enforcement of Covid regulations are carried out by national police officers of the Provincial Police Station of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with the collaboration of the different Local Police Corps in the municipalities to which they refer.
