46-year-old woman seriously injured after being run over in Gran Canaria
A 46-year-old woman has been left seriously injured after being run over by a car this morning (Tuesday) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert just after 8:00am, requesting medical assistance for a woman on Calle Guantánamo in the Salto del Negro area of the city.
When they got there, paramedics confirmed that the woman had suffered a serious leg injury and treated her at the scene before she was taken by ambulance to hospital for further care.
The Las Palmas Local Police have opened an investigation and are preparing a full report, although they have not released any information about the driver or the vehicle involved in the incident.
It is not yet clear whether the driver remained at the scene or if any arrests have been made.
