A man got killed yesterday morning (Friday) after being run over on the TF-1 motorway in Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident took place around 7:00am by the junctions for San Eugenio, which is when the 112 call centre received several alerts reporting that a 30-year-old man had been run over by ‘several’ vehicles.
CECOES dispatched ambulances, the Guardia Civil, and highway services to the scene of the accident, but paramedics could only confirm his death from his injuries, while the police co-ordinated the traffic and instructed the corresponding procedures to have his body removed for official identification and an autopsy.
One of the most fatal stretches of the motorway:
This particular stretch of the TF-1 is one of the most dangerous in the south for pedestrians, particularly by junction 78 as there is a bus stop at the end of the slip road which is in between the motorway and the road leading to Fañabe village. This is a ‘hot spot’ for people trying to cross the motorway on foot which unfortunately ends in too many fatal incidents.
