A 30-year-old man has died following a collision between the electric scooter he was riding and a car in La Aldea de San Nicolás, on the island of Gran Canaria.
The incident occurred at 10:20am yesterday (Sunday), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The alert was received by emergency services reporting a collision between an electric scooter and a car, with the scooter rider in need of urgent medical attention.
Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) responded to the scene and immediately took the injured man to the nearby La Aldea de San Nicolás Health Centre.
However, despite efforts to assist him, medical staff confirmed his death shortly after arrival due to injuries deemed incompatible with life.
Local Police and the Guardia Civil attended the scene, assisted the emergency teams, and have taken charge of the investigation into the cause of the incident.
