20-year-old injured in late night hit and run in the south of Tenerife
A 20-year-old man was injured in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, after being knocked over by a car in the south of Tenerife, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred at approximately 2:40am on Avenida Francisco Andrade Fumero near the Golden Mile in Playa Las Americas, and the driver of the car didn’t stop after the accident; instead he drove off without checking if the man was hurt or not
Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly at the scene and assessed the injured man, who had sustained moderate traumas as a result of the collision. He was stabilised and transported by ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Hospiten Sur for further treatment.
Local Police officers were also present at the scene to carry out the necessary investigation and file a report. Members of the National Police assisted in managing the incident and supporting emergency crews.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the driver or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
