A collision between two jet skis at Playa de Taurito in Mogán, Gran Canaria, has left two people injured this afternoon (Saturday), a 44-year-old man and an 11-year-old boy, who were both taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:55pm, when the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert reporting the crash. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

SUC medical personnel attended to the two injured people after they were brought ashore. Both had suffered injuries to their legs and were transported by ambulance to the Hospital San Roque in Maspalomas for further treatment.

Investigations Underway

The Local Police, Civil Protection teams, and the Guardia Civil were also present at the scene and collaborated in managing the response. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety guidelines when operating this type of watercraft. The Canary Islands' coastal zones are popular for jet ski activities, but authorities urge caution to avoid potentially serious accidents.
