A new holiday complex is set to take shape on the southern coast of Gran Canaria, with 55 luxury apartments planned for a site near San Agustín Beach, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The project, led by Montebalito, a Canary Islands-based real estate developer listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange, involves a €10 million investment and aims to attract tourists seeking "comfort and exclusivity". The development will be situated in the Las Acacias residential area of San Agustín.

According to a company statement, the complex will be built on a 5,821 square metre plot, with 4,200 square metres designated for construction. It will comprise a three-storey structure offering a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments.

The resort will feature a range of premium amenities, including two outdoor swimming pools, landscaped gardens, retail units, and 56 underground parking spaces. The development is described as part of a “premium offer” targeting the high-end tourist market.

This new project comes amid ongoing discussions around sustainable tourism and urban development on the island, as Gran Canaria continues to balance economic growth with environmental and social considerations.
